So Much to Say, So Lil Words

God is good.

It doesn't matter if my flesh is filled with lesions,
Christians are being murdered,
there's unrest in the Governments,
and sadness all around...

GOD IS GOOD.

Someday HE WILL pull the curtain back and every flesh will drop in total obedience.
"For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:" 1 Cor 13:12a

Every knee WILL BOW at His majesty.
"For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God." Romans 14:11

Until then, we wait for His perfect timing.

For 2+ weeks the Lord has filled my flesh, head to toe, with a virus that produces lesions (Erythema Multiforme).

(Yes, I said God filled my flesh.  He is in control of the virus, satan is not.  For further study click HERE)  It was the most torturous thing I have ever physically felt.  I have never had an itch so indescribable, just ask my family...I couldn't even sit still for 2 seconds let alone take a breath as it felt like tiny worms escaping my pores continuously.

The Lord quietly reminded me of the wrath that is to come.  This is not even a taste of what unbelievers will have to face eternally...

Revelation 14:10-11
"The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name."

"The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth."  Matthew 24:50-51

Are you watching every single second for His return?  Because that weeping and gnashing of teeth WILL. NEVER. END...
You say you are a Christ follower.
Have you really surrendered to Him?  He is King and He WILL reign whether you want Him to or not..
"And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever."  Revelation 11:15

Right now He's give you time to choose:  His way or the hard way...

"And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lordchoose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."  Joshua 24:15

Or have you given up waiting on Him, for your own earthy, temporary, seasonal "happiness"?

God is good.
NOW and FOREVER.

The RainBOW

I just had THE most amazing word picture given to me and wanted to share it with you!

Do you remember the story of Noah and the ark, where God was grieved that He created man...

"And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.  And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.  And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth..." Genesis 6:5-7a

so He destroyed all living, except Noah and His family, through a worldwide flood?  (Genesis 6)

This seems like a sad, terrible story...but I love how my God, is the Author of happy endings!

Remember, when Noah was getting out of the ark, God placed the rainbow in the sky as a monument/sign of His covenant; to not destroy all flesh by a flood again?

In Genesis 9:13-17 it is called a "bow".

You know, a bow, (in the orig. sense of bending; a bow for shooting) like the kind my boys use to hunt with.  Think of the string like the horizon.

"I do set my bow in the cloud and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.  And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud; And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.  And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth."
Genesis 9:13-16

A covenant is a VERY serious thing with God!  Covenant means "cutting; a compact; (because made by passing between pieces of flesh)"

Jesus is the mediator (a go-between; a reconciler) of the New Covenant
"And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, ..." Hebrews 13:24

Jesus is God in flesh, The Only One who never sinned, Blameless to come before a Holy God.

"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time."  1 Timothy 2:5-6

which is who the rainbow is pointing to...JESUS!

"For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgement unto the Son..." John 5:22

Jesus was judged in my place, with God's wrath, that was meant for me!

"But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed;  All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all."  Isaiah 53:5-6

I always knew the rainbow was God's sign to never flood the world again...but I will NEVER look at a rainBOW the same way again.

"Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed."  1 Peter 2:24

healed= "to cure"

Thank you Father for curing me from being Your enemy...

"For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life."
Romans 5:10

Do you trust Him?

God has made this a constant theme in my life...

Proverbs 3:5
"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding."

Even on the radio this morning, God, in His Sovereignty allowed me hear a pastor ask, "Do you trust Him?"

Many times in the Bible, Jesus asks people to do interesting things.
I love how Mary, Jesus' mother, told His disciples,

"Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it." John 2:5b

She told the disciples this when the wedding was out of wine.
Can you imagine what the disciples were thinking when Jesus told them, "Fill the waterpots with water." John 2:7?

If it was me, I would reply, "But Jesus' they need wine now!  We don't have time for this! What are you doing!?  It will take forever to find the nearest well and lug those huge things around!  It's late and I'm tired!  I don't want to.  Can't you find someone else?  This is so weird.  What are we doing?!"

(Can you tell I'm whiny?  - Get it?  heehee :)

But Christ, in His love, patiently waited for them to obey His command, so they could have a front row seat to witness the manifestation of His glory and believe that He was the Son of God.

"This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him."  John 2:11

FRONT ROW SEAT!
If they would have said, "No thank you Jesus.  We're gonna sit this one out. You can find someone else do it."
Look what they would have missed out on!

So do YOU trust Him?

Do you trust Him when He asks you to love the unlovable
"This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you."  John 15:12
(God loved us when we were His enemy. Romans 5:10)

 ...and forgive the unforgivable?
"For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:  But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."  Matthew 6:14-15

Do you trust Him when He asks you to give Him your everything?
"Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me." Mark 10:21

Do you trust Him when He asks you to love Him more than ANYONE or ANYTHING else?
"If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple."
 Luke 14:26

Do you trust Him when He promised He is coming back soon?
Rev 22:7 " Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book."

Do you trust Him?

We say with our mouth we trust Him....
but do our actions prove that we do?

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves."        James 1:22

Do You Feel Defeated?

It is easy to feel defeated, day after day, as we pass through this earthly life waiting for eternity.

One thing after another comes at us, and satan tries to confuse us to get our eyes off of our Savior.

..."satan, which deceives the whole world..."  Revelation 12:9b

And the dragon [satan] was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ." Revelation 12:17

"Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea!  for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time".  Revelation 12:12

(I love how Christ reminds us it's just for a short time :)

Jesus knew His children would have days they felt defeated.
I love how He loves us so much to warn and encourage us as He said,
..."In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.  John 16:33

Flip to the back, the last book of the Bible, Revelation, where Jesus invites us to see the end of the story so we can be encouraged.

"And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto death."

This has been on my heart the last few days.  This was my post on FB the other day:

"After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;  And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb."  Rev 7:9-10

I love how Paul David Tripp says in his book, Instruments In the Redeemer's Hands, "Think about what they [in heaven] are singing.  [And what we, His children, will be singing when we get there]  It is not, 'I got that job!',  'My marriage was fantastic!',  'I was surrounded by great friends and my kids turned out well!'  'I defeated depression and mastered my fears!' "

This is soooo true!  These things in life start to overwhelm us and defeat us...but then we turn our hearts to Christ, and see the back of the book, the end of the story in Revelation...

... and cry with a loud voice  “Salvation to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb"! Rev 7:10

and we cry, "Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever!"  Rev 7:12

and we cry, "Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing"!  Rev 5:12

and we cry,“Worthy are You to take the book and to break its seals; for You were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.  Rev 5:9b NASB

And slowly but surely the pull of the world and it's trials starts to dim and I don't feel defeated anymore.

"Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and power of his Christ; for the accuser of our brethern is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night."

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death."
Revelation 12:10-11

Summer Blessings and Warning

Oh my... my heart is overflowing with blessings:

 Sleeping in with my children on a Summer's day;
 The sun warming my skin as I watch loved ones fish;
 Picking and eating sweet ripe mulberries in our backyard before they fall off the tree;
Having my lil lady next to me helping me keep house and sharing what she's been learning in God's Word,
Seeing the smile our son's face as he graduate's 8th grade,
Feeling the tears well up as we think of how far God has brought him,
  Watching the excitement in his eyes as he enters a new chapter in life and enjoys church youth group;
Holding my husband's hand as we talk about our day;
Enjoying other believers in the Lord as we fellowship among the body of Christ,
Even seeing the baby birds on our front porch hatch and leave their nest...

On and on the blessings flow!

And then I get to listen to...

And God reminds me that I have been wanting all these things that I listed above, and more - more than I desire Him!

How do I know?
Because the cares of this world consume my mind more than He does.

Just like Pastor Rick asks in his sermon, Can you imagine knowing that your spouse constantly thinks of others?

If you are part of the Bride of Christ, is your mind constantly fixed on Him?

In my heart I say to Him, "Yes, Lord.  I will follow you... but can I have ____ too?"

Which do I desire more, which consumes my thoughts more: to have felllowship with my Heavenly Father or to be pleased while here on this earth?

"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.  If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.  For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world."  1 John 2:15-16

Like Pastor Rick says in the sermon, "What am I trying to fit with me through the narrow gate?"
"Then said one unto him, 'Lord, are there few who are saved?'
And He said to them, Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able."
Luke 13:23-24

Are you too wide for the narrow gate?

Jesus is God

I remember when The Lord allowed this to click for me.

Have you ever thought about that before?  We always think of Jesus as God's Son...but have you ever put the two together that
Jesus IS God?

This is a really helpful website to compare verses to see how Jesus is God:  http://carm.org/jesus-god

This is the verse that i read today:

"Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God..."   1 John 5:1

What does the word Christ mean?
Here is Strong's definition of the word Christ:

CHRIST(Christos)=annointed; i.e. the messiah, an epithet of Jesus

(Webster's says epithet means "any word or phrase applied to a person or thing to describe an actual or attributed quality; a characterizing word or phrase firmly associated with a person or thing and often used in place of an actual name)

The word Christ comes from the word:
chrio= through the idea of contact; to smear or rub with oil; i.e. to concentrate to an office or religious service:- annoint

WOW!  Did you see that?!!

Picture this with me?  God, The Ultimate Supreme Diety, the Eternal the Father, Who has always been...came into contact personally with the world through Jesus!!!!!  God anointed Jesus to be THE ONE to give us contact with Him!  Jesus is God in flesh!  Jesus is God!!!

"Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins."  John 8:24 NASB

Do you believe?

Trials and Blessings

Oh how I've missed writing.  I really am thankful God has given me the opportunity to have this blog.  Even if no one reads it...i know my children can go back and read it when I'm gone.  :)  But I am floored that I have had as many readers that I have!  Thank you for taking the time to read what God has laid on my heart!!!  I am thankful for you!

God has blessed us with an amazing opportunity to fly to MI to see my sister and her family.  We had an amazing time!

Sister and I in our matching jackets...too funny, we didn't even know the other got one!
We only get to see them 1-2 times per year, so when we do, it's an extra special treat!  And oh how her kids grow each time we see them.  It was just Ian and I that went this time.  I took Ellie the previous time and I told V, he is going with me the next time.

We loved spending time with my sister and her family.  So special!  Melts my heart to hear them call my name and ask me to play with them!

Especially to hear littlest say "hold my hand".

Such a sweet refreshing time God gave me from the trials He has brought into my life these past few months.

Yes- I said trials.  Yes- I said from God.  Check out this sermon from my pastor:
Enduring Trials and Temptations

 Have you experienced any lately?
God says if you have or are going through one He calls you His son or daughter!!

So do we dare say..."Bring on the trials!" ???  :)

"And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children. My son, despise not thou the chastening (education, training, correction) of the LORD, nor faint when thou art rebuked of Him: For whom the Lord loveth He chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom He receiveth.  If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?  But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons."  Hebrews 12:5-8

Did you see that?!  If we don't have hard times come into our lives God calls us bastards and not sons!  He is my Daddy in Heaven and He knows what's best for me.  I respect my earthly Dad, so I will respect my Heavenly Dad even more!  He deals with my spirit!

"Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son..." Galatians 4:7

Check out this verse!  I am so amazed at this one it gives me strength to keep pressing on in the fire...

"For they [earthly dads] verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but He for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness."  Hebrews 12:10

WOAH!!  God is chastising me so I may participate in His holiness!!!!!!!!!

Because guess what?  This life we live here on earth is NOT about us and our happieness.  It's not about the here and now...  It is about ETERNITY!!!!

"For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away."  James 4:14

Everyone's soul will live on for eternity....the question we need to ask ourselves is where?

"And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal" Matthew 25:46

Will you live in Heaven in God's holiness or Hell in God's wrath?  The only way we can live in God's holiness is through His Son.  Have you surrendered your life to Him?  Then why do we still live for ourselves?

"And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.  For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it."  Luke 9:23-24

HE is the Author and Finisher of our faith...so keep going, He has lots of work to do in your life to FINISH your faith!!  Keep your eyes on HIM!

"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith..."  Hebrews 12:2a

A Family

Every once in awhile I get to "celebrate" a family member.   I bring out the celebrate plate,

pour some sparkling grape juice in fancy glasses, light some candles and the special guest brings his or her favorite item to the table as the "centerpiece" and tells about it.  Each person around the table says one thing they like best about that person.  Lots of activities could be added to the evening...songs or stories, special food prepared, prayers prayed, etc.

Let me tell you, after the dinner is all said and done, the special guest feels very loved.  You can tell by the sparkle in their eyes, the smile on their face and the quietness about them as they listen to each family member take their turn to love on them.  Their whole demeanor changes.

We had a special evening the other night:
During it, I asked Vitaliy what he liked best about America.

In one word he immediately replied..

"Family."

MELT MY HEART!!!

Reminds me of my adoption by God.

And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ."  Galatians 4:6-7

The other day I heard a new believer say she was so excited to not be alone anymore...she now had a family!  She was beaming from ear to ear!

Do you hear Him?  Jesus is calling you!  Come into the family of God!

" As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.  Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with Me"
Revelation 3:19-20.
