I Once was Blind...

Yesterday I woke up ready to read my Bible, but realized my Bible was under the couch and I didn't want to wake the boys up.  (They're sleeping in the living room on their mattresses because we are repainting and changing bedrooms)  So I opened up my Facebook and look what I saw.....!!!!
The young man on the right has been blind since the age of 4 and desired to learn pottery at my cousin's pottery shop.  The man on the left is my 2nd cousin, who owns the pottery shop, guiding the young man's hand in making a clay pot.

This picture blessed my socks off!!!  I immediately thought of my spiritual blindness and how God gently leads me!
"...He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake."        Psalm 23:3b

After drinking my tea and looking at FB, while waiting for the boys to wake up so I can get my Bible, but realizing the boys are STILL sleeping (for the first time on this 7th day of Spring Break), I decided I'd find a different Bible so as not to wake them up.  I'm trying to read through the book of John in my Bible study, and I was ready for Chapter 9.  Guess what chapter 9 is about?
The young man born blind!!!!!!!

Yahoooo GOD IS SOOO GOOD and into every detail of our life!

John 9:1  "And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth."

I TOO WAS BORN BLIND!!!! (spiritually)
"Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked..." Revelation 3:17

This was me!!!  God made me (and you) wretched, miserable, poor, blind and naked so "that the works of God should be made manifest" in me! (John 9:3b)

(a little side note: Jesus healed the young man in John 9 with clay that He put in his eyes [vs 6].  Don't you think it's cool that in the picture I saw today, they were using clay?  :)

As I kept reading in John 9 the boys' parents wouldn't tell the Pharasies who healed their son!  They were scared of being thrown out because they feared man more than God!
vs 22 "These words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue."

Are you ready to confess that Jesus is Christ?  In America, for now, things are still pretty ok if you confess that Jesus is Christ.... but things may get worse as they are in other countries.  Are you ready to be put in prison for Him, beat for Him, or burn for Him, get "put out" for Him?

Open our eyes Lord! We beg of You for Your strength and guidance!
"Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth."  John 9:31

"And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind." John 9:39

Don't you just LOOVE it when someone comes to you and asks for your forgiveness?!
I think it rates up there with one of the best feelings in the whole world!!!!!!!
It makes my heart soooooo happy!
Of course God helps me forgive them even when they don't ask for it, but when they do.... YEEEEEHAAWWW!!!!
Can you even fathom how God must feel when we come to Him with a humble heart and ask for HIS forgiveness?
Of course He loves us regardless, but when we come to Him with a humble heart..... WATCH OUT!!!!
I can just picture my Father now, jumping and skipping and laughing with joy with His angels! :)
Look what God says He will do when you come humbly before Him...
"Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up." James 4:10
Have you humbled yourself in the sight of the Lord today?

Are You Scared to Die?

The Lord has started getting me really excited to come see Him.  After listening to this last message of Pilgrim's Progress by Kris, I am more than ready!

Click on the link below (or copy and paste to web address) to listen.

You never know when you will breath your last breath!  Have you stopped and considered what happens when you take your last breath?
Have you ever thought, "I will meet the Lord face to face!" ?  It's a thought to always keep at the front of your heart and mind.  You never know when it could happen.  Don't ever loose the thought of standing face to face with God!  It's what keeps us motivated to keep our eyes on Him!  He is worth it!
Ever witnessed a Bride planning her wedding?  She must find a dress, maybe loose some weight, get a tan, have her hair done, the list goes and on!  There is so much to do!
Guess what?  The same goes for our spiritual wedding!!  What are you doing to prepare for eternity?  Are you hanging onto old sins and your old way of life? Or are you preparing yourself to meet your Bridegroom by surrendering your life to Him, digging into His word daily and loving being in His presence?

Check out this picture a friend sent me.

Are you ready for God to call you into eternity?  If you have surrendered your life to Christ, I hope you are waiting with excitement!

Think of how excited a bride feels to walk down the isle to her handsome, smiling, waiting husband!!!!

"Let us be lad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready."
Revelation 19:7

The King is Inviting You!

Once again He whispers my name.
My Romantic King keeps wooing me!
Do you hear Him? He is wooing you too!
Psalm 45:10-11

"Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear, forget also thine own people, and thy father's house; So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him."

Do you see the 5 things God is asking you to do?
1.) HEARKEN- to hear intelligently (often with implication of attention, obedience):-x attentively, call(gather) together,x carefully listen; obey
2.) CONSIDER- to see; advise self, appear, approve, discern, (make to) enjoy, have experience, gaze, take heed
3.) INCLINE your ear- to stretch or spread out; to bend away, deliver, extend, go down, outstretch
4.) FORGET- to mislay; i.e. to be oblivious of; from want of memory or attention
1. Listen! He is calling you!
2. Choose to gaze upon His Word (the Bible) in His presence and choose Him!
3. Stretch out and extend your ear and listen what He's telling you. Listen carefully and obey!
4. Forget about the world around you... don't try to please everyone around you, please HIM with giving HIm your all, He greatly desires your beauty!!!!!!
Isn't that intresting? God of the universe desires YOU!

- to wish for: long

- beauty (It comes from another word which means "to be bright, i.e. beautiful")
Is it my own beauty and brightness God desires.....?
NO WAY HOSEA!!!! NO ONE is beautiful enough to stand in the presence of the Holy of Holies!
"But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind have taken us away." Isaiah 64:6

But Jesus, the Perfect High Priest, Sinless One gave us HIS righteousness and beauty!
"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour, That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life." Titus 3:5-7
"For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God FOR US...."  Hebrews 9:24
"And be FOUND IN HIM, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith; That I may KNOW HIM..." Philippians 3:9-10a

This sounds pretty intimate if you ask me!
Remember, the Bible was written when they didn't have "presidents", they had kings.
The only way a person could enter the "king's court" was if you were invited.

The King is inviting you!
"I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture." John 10:9

My Romantic King

Do you feel like the Lord has forgotten you?
Check out this promise...
Psalm 40:5
Did you get that?!  God is thinking about YOU today!  His thoughts about you are so many that you can't even count them!!!!!
Don't think that verse is enough?
Here's another
Psalm 40:17b
HELLO!!!!  Read it again... God is thinking about you!  He loves you so much His heart is consumed with thoughts of you!
God is Romantic, huh?
