Mommyhood

I really love being a mommy, but it sure does have it's trying times. :)

Know what comforts and encourages me?  Jesus had frustrating times with His disciples too!

"For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin."  Hebrews 4:15

I have read several times when Jesus was on the earth, He tried to teach His children something and they just didn't GET IT.

Sound familiar?  :)

In Mark 8:1 Jesus had just fed over 4,000 people with seven loaves of bread, right in front of the disciples eyes.  In fact, the disciples picked up 7 baskets of leftovers.  I'm sure these were not puny baskets either.  Right after they fed all these people they sent them away and got in a ship to go to Dalmanutha.  Guess what the disciples forgot to bring for their voyage.... BREAD!

Kinda reminds me of running out the door for school and a child forgetting to bring their homework, or going to the store to find out someone is missing shoes!  :)  Jesus understands your frustration Mommy.

Jesus even understands what it's like to want some time to yourself!  Ever felt like you wanted to lock yourself in the bathroom to find some peace?  So did Jesus!  (only He didn't escape to the bathroom :)

"And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.  And Simon and they that were with him followed after him."  Mark 1:35 and 36.

He even tried to "sneak by" without them seeing!  :)

"...and would have passed by them.  But when they saw him ..."                  Mark 6:48b and 49.

God understands little Mother.
Even when we get frustrated with our children, as much as we want to give up at times, we must do as Jesus did for His children in Mark 4:1

"And he began again to teach..."

Don't give up dear Mommy, keep pressing on, again and again to teach your sweet little ones.

When you feel like you have nothing left to give, and your children and screaming for your attention, pour out your heart to your Father and He will comfort you.

"As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you..."  Isaiah 66:13a
