Love Story

For all you romantics out there, have I got a love story for you!

As I was rearranging my blog the other day, the Holy Spirit showed me something I have never seen before!! Don't you just love it when He does that?!

I fell in love with this picture.... I put it by my blog header the other day and the Holy Spirit said, Psalm 23.

"Thou prepares A table before ME"...

OH MY! Was I blown away!!! Every other time I have read this verse I envisioned a LOOOOOONNNNNNGGG table that my eye cannot see the end of because it's so big for all the believers that are sitting at this table and there are so many place settings. But the Holy Spirit said, "no, it's A table just for you"... OH God, You are SOOO Romantic!!!!!!! I am overwhelmed! This table is BEAUTIFUL! You know just what I like! It's perfect! Then the Holy Spirit reminded me that it is...

"in the presence of mine enemies"

Now, that doesn't sound very fun. But wait a second, the story comes to a crawling halt and  the camera freezes on just me and my Savior as arrows and shots are firing all around us in VERY slow motion. Jesus has just served me the finest of foods (prepares = arrange. He is such a Servant!) and He comes to kneel down next to me. What's that you are doing Savior? Why are you serving me?! Why are you placing Your hands on my head so softly? What's that cool oil running down my forehead?

"thou anointest my head with oil..."
(anointest = to satisfy; to remove ashes)

Wait a second! There's too much going on! There's a war all around us! We need to focus on the caios all around us so we don't get shot! You can't do this,
I'm not worthy!!!!!!!!!

Then He whispers,

"I am."

Do you cringe at evil?   Do you sigh and cry for the abominations =

something disgusting, an abhorrence; espec. idolatry or an idol:- abominable (custom, thing) happening all around you?   Or do you go with the flow and accept "everything"?

There are MANY things happening in our midst that God hates.

In Ezekiel 9:4 the LORD told a man with a writer's inkhorn to "set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof. vs. 5 And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity:"

So the people who sighed and cried for the idolatry customs that were happening were spared. The ones who didn't think twice about it were destroyed.

I pray we would be different than the world.

The LORD told Ezekiel, "the city full of perverseness: for they say, The LORD hath forsaken the earth, and the LORD seeth not." Ezekiel 9:9b

May we never say or think God has abandoned us and left us to fend for ourselves.

"When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice; (For the LROD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them. " Deuteronomy 4:30-31

Please don't be accepting and not think twice of the evil going on around us, but sigh and cry for the abominations that are being done in our midst!

"Remember me, O my God, concerning this also, and spare me according to the greatness of thy mercy." Nememiah 13:22b

Camping is fun...but add Christ and it's a blast!

We left Friday afternoon to attend "Family Camp" and stayed until  Sunday afternoon.  Extreme Kansas Camp at Milford Lake is wonderful.  They have canoing, tubing ,this large blow up thing that V loved called "Saturn"....

...and MANY other fun activities.
Giant slip n slide

There were about 8-10 different families from all over Ks that enjoyed the weekend.
Enjoying Snowcones with everyone

We love the Ammons family, they always treat everyone like family.  Shawn was the pastor who married us 15 years ago.

Ammons Family

They have walked with us through our many mountains and valleys.  I love watching their family of 11 (yes, they have 9 children :).  They are a Christlike example to us in SOOO many ways.

Shawn pointed us closer to Christ during several "services" we had throughout the weekend.

I love thinking about the early church, they didn't have elaborate buildings to meet in, just God's great outdoors.  I loved feeling the breeze blow across my face as I sat under the "base camp" tent listening.  I also enjoyed worshipping with other believers "just as I am" , without a shower, in my swimming suit, hat and no makeup.  :)  I was reminded how Christ had church "WITH" His followers in His creation as the sun browned His skin.

He wasn't "preachy", but spent TIME WITH them, loving on them.  How can we spend time WITH others (our children espically) to share Christ with them?  "But Jesus withdrew with His disciples to the sea" Mark 3:7a  There are MANY verses saying how Jesus did things WITH His disciples.

The favorite for many was watching the sunset under the cross and singing to our God.

Preparing for worship at sunset
My favorite was when Shawn described our walk as Christ followers, on their  baseball field.  He started with having his 4 year old son hit the ball off a T and watching him run to 3rd base.
Many of us live life like this, wake up, hit the floor and don't think twice about Christ?  We run straight for 3rd base thinking we are doing great getting stuff done.  We laugh at an innocent 4 year old, but when a 40 year old man runs to 3rd base and stands with a smile on his isn't funny.  That's what most of us do, run straight to 3rd base (Shawn called this base "DO".  Doing works, getting stuff done.) Instead we need to stand at homeplate (called "YOU") smack the ball and run to first base!  First base is called "BE".  When we wake up in the morning BE STILL and KNOW He is God!!!!  Spend time with your Father!  Then run to second base.  Second base is called "WHO".  It's only when we spend time with Christ that we can give to others in our life.  After that we can run to third base called "DO".  Don't do life backwards and expect Christ to bless it at the end of the day.  It's only when we do these things in order can we score in life.  Christ is always FIRST, people in our life are SECOND, getting "stuff" done is THIRD!

Thank you Jesus for Family Camp!!!  I can't wait to go again!  :)

Wheat Harvest

V got to experience his first wheat harvest!

I was really surprised and sad to hear him say he say he had never seen a wheat harvest when Ukraine is known for their wheat. There were fields of wheat everywhere we turned in Ukraine.

Wheat field in Ukraine- this is the image their flag is based upon

He loved watching the combine and the unloading of the wheat.
I didn't get any pics, but this is an old pic from harvest 09'

He got in the wheat truck and got down a few bucketful’s of wheat for Grammie and I. Grammie was fast and went straight into the house and got out her wheat grinder and made us biscuits.

Grammie let me borrow the grinder and I put V and Ian to work grinding wheat (don't worry, it's electric). Who knew grinding our own wheat (God’s wheat) would feel so rewarding!

As of now, I have about 10 ziploc baggies full, glory to God!!!!

(a little side note here: if I would have kept my selfish/ "I don’t deserve this" attitude 6 years ago, I would not get this blessing)

My sweet boys grinding wheat

I love how God is so into Word pictures. As I was getting the wheat ready for the grinder, I had to get out chaff (anything that is not the kernel). So I would hold it up and blow on it or the wind would come up and blow the chaff out. The Holy Spirit reminded me of the verse in Luke where John the Baptist described Jesus, "Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and will gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn with fire unquenchable." Luke 3:17.

The harvest is ready! "And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe." Revelation 14:15.

I sure do NOT want to be chaff or rye as I live my life! I want to be His fruit, His wheat, "

Gather ye together first the tares (false grain), and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn." Matthew 13:30

Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you." John 15:16

If you have never witnessed a harvest, I encourage you to take a drive on a country road during harvest season. Pack a picnic lunch and plan on sitting and discussing God’s word about harvest, wheat and the fire to come in the last days.

Will you be God’s fruit or will you burn with a fire that never stops? You cannot produce fruit without Him. It’s only THROUGH Him that you are able to produce fruit. "

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing." John 15:5

"Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else." Isaiah 45:22
