As you may have read in my last post...I love being a mommy.

Psalm 113:9 "He maketh the barren woman to keep house and to be a joyful mother of children."

Mother= as the bond of the family

WOAH! I am the bond of the Josh Stubbs family... now that's humbling.

The first part of that verse says I get to keep house. No, that's not just cleaning and picking up after everyone.

 House= family; inside; palace; place...

I get to "keep" my family, my home. I get to make sure everyone is taken care of emotionally and physically. You may remember...I almost lost them. Praise God for second chances!

AND...the last part of the verse says I get to be a JOYFUL mother of children. I LOOOVE IT! Are you a JOYFUL mother? I have to constanstly remind myself to talk in a kind voice. Too often I find myself raising my voice. That accomplishes nothing except making more stress. Let's find ways to be a JOYFUL mother. Maybe break out in song or dance infront of your children. That's sure to put a smile on their face! :) Tell them often how proud you are of them, or what a great job they did. Who doesn't love a compliment? What about smiling at them? An easy thing to do that's not done often enough.

"and she that tarried at home divided the spoil. Though ye have lien (to rest) among the pots (a double stall for cattle), yet shall ye be as the wings of a dove covered with silver, and her feathers with yellow gold." Psalm 68:12b-13.

This promise was for those LADIES who tarried at home. Sounds like this lady laid down in exhaustion right where she was working. Ever felt like that after a long day caring for your family?

Tarried= at home; hence, (by impl of satisfaction) lovely. From the word Navah= to rest (as at home); keep at home; prepare an habitation.

Spoil= booty

Sounds like a pirate! Think of all the gold pirates get in movies! :) But this spoil is much better than anything we have seen in a movie! Spoil is a prettier word for all those jewels than the word booty huh? I don't know about you, but I liked to be spoiled. And I think God has greater spoil than a pirate. And believe me, He KNOWS how to spoil us.

God promised her that she gets to divide this spoil! She gets to say who gets what and how much. :) The others had to go out and get it, but she gets to distribute it and keep a portion for herself.

I love being a stay at home mommy. I am beyond blessed that God and my husband have allowed me to do so.

The last part of the verse is really cool. The ultimate spa day, when we get to be as the wings of a dove covered with silver and yellow gold! Can't wait for that day! Somedays I feel He has given me a taste of this goodness, of His goodness when I see my family.

"Except the Lord builds the house, they labour in vain that build it..." Psalm 127:1a
builds=to build; obtain children

house=to build obtain children; a house espec family

vain= in the sense of desolating; evil (as destructive); ruin (espec guile); idolatry; uselessness; false; lying

Build our house Lord!

"Lo children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the
enemies in the gate." Psalm 127:3-5

I wish I would have listened to this verse before wehad children surgically stopped. I was selfish and prideful. Why would I want to stop a reward of God from happening?! Because I am afriad what other people will think? Because I am prideful and selfish of my time and money. For what? For things that are only temporary. Children are a HERITAGE! That means they last WAY longer than our material things.

HERITAGE= something inherited (of the Lord); occupancy; an heirloom; an estate; portion

Isn't that amazing?! Children are our inheritance from God! Woah! Let that one soak in a minute. Have you ever dreamed about how many children you would have if you lived like you believed this verse? That chiildren are His reward! What would our lives look like if there was no little pill called "birth control"? What did they do before that? HMMM.... looks like God was in charge of the number of babies per family. So what does that mean birth control is? Means WE ARE in control of the number of babies per family.

I encourage you to watch this video!

If you live in the area, Open Door PCC has it available for you to view

Before you fill your body with that one little tiny pill every day, please research it for yourself. Where did this little pill come from? What exactly does it do once I swallow it? Why is it so heavily advertized in this world? I encourage you to research this subject for yourself before you pop the pill. Maybe God wants to make you "a joyful mother of children." His word says that if your quiver is full of children you will be HAPPY!

Don't let the world, tv, doctors, family and friends determine your body's health and the size of your family!

What does it look like to have God be in contol of EVERY aspect of my life? Does that mean I have to give over the area of the number of children to Him if I want to surrender EVERYTHING to Him? I sure wish I would have thought this through years ago. Are you afraid what will happen if you surrender this area to God? Is God big enough to decide the number of children best for you and to provide for them?

I'm so thankful God is a God of second chances. That He has, in our family, restored what the locust have eaten. He gave us another arrow in our quiver, blessed us with another heritage from Him, and makes me to keep house and be the joyful mother of children. Praise His Glorious name!!!!!
"The Lord shall increase you more and more, you and your children." Psalm 115:14

V's Update

Either we are still in our honeymoon phase of adoption, Vitaliy is a really easy kid, OR... God has His hand on our lives big time.

I believe with all my heart the latter is true. God has His hand on us big time. I have heard of many post-adoption stories that have not been very joyful. Ours has been just that, joyful 90% of the time. When the other 10% of the time comes around, it is not fun.

I trimmed Vitaliy's hair today, bad idea. He hates having his hair cut. He didn't talk to me for the first 30 minutes after I cut it, and gave me an evil look when he glanced my way. I went in the kitchen and prayed out loud that if there was anything in our home not of God to be gone in Jesus name.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places].Ephesians 6:12

I begged God to fill Vitaliy with His joy. I went in the living room to check in on him a few minutes after I prayed, and he seemed completly happy like nothing had happened! Praise the Mighty name of God who is all powerful! What a miracle!  I just learned today that the word "name" means authority.... isn't that cool!

Vitaliy melts my heart when he prays. He has recently started praying,

"Sssss...sank You Jesus for give me family."

(translation-"Thank you Jesus for giving me a family.")

I smile everytime I hear him pray that. I think Christ is smiling too when He hears Vitaliy tell Him. Makes the last year totally worth it.

Vitaliy is so funny. We were eating Chinese food the other day, and he was so excited to eat the "cookie". We did't even think to tell him there was paper inside. :) Yep, he bit right into it, paper and all and said, "Waah iz it?!" (translation- "What is it?") We all busted up laughing, and he laughed too. Ian started to tell him as he put the cookie in his mouth, "Vitaliy, WAIT!", but it was too late. :)

I am so overwhelmed with joy when I fold 3 sets of laundry,

make 3 plates of food, pick up 3 kids from the bus stop, and tuck 3 kids in bed at night.  God has given me my dream come true. "Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart." Psalm 37:4

I am amazed God has chosen ME to be the mommy of these precious kiddos. I smile and want to pinch myself when I look out the window to see 2 boys playing ball, 2 boys carrying firewood and 2 boys chasing eachother. Only God could have orchestrated that. He is so big and powerful, yet He cares about the details. Even how He put Vitaliy, a boy from the Ukraine without a family, into our family. Thank you Jesus.

"thy children
like olive plants round about thy table." Psalm 128:3b

I cannot wait to use this verse above our table!

I love seeing my little olive plants sitting at our table, growing up, becoming "strong in spirit" Luke 2:40. I pray they, like Jesus, would be filled with widom and God's grace would be upon them.

I can't wait to see what else the Lord will do in 2012!!

"God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah." Psalm 67:1

That He has done.

Almost 3 Months Later...

Josh got me a computer for CHRISTmas! I am finally able to update.
We have been home for almost 3 months. I can believe it, and I can't believe it.   In a way it seems as if he has always been with us and the Ukraine trip is like a distant dream. The trip home went well after we finally got on the plane. He scared Tressa and I as we thought he was going to get sick in the airport and again on the airplane. But he didn't and slept a good part.

It was SO comforting to have family and friends greet us as we arrived home. What a breath of fresh air!

Thank you to everyone who has supported us financially, emotionally and prayerfully. In a perfect world, I would send each of you a thank you card with our family picture- our family that you helped bring together - but since we don't live in a perfect world, know that I thank the Lord for each of you.

Thank you from the Josh Stubbs Family!
Vitaliy is doing very well at learning English. More than I ever thought possible. He is catching on very quickly and at times it's hard to get a word in edge wise. He is really dealing with his stuttering, (that he's had for years), if you think about it, please pray for him and for us as how to help him. If anyone has ideas of how to help him in this area of speech, please let me know. He went to school for 2 hours a day before CHRISTmas break, but is now going all day.  His sixth grade class is in contact with a sixth grade class in Ukraine. This is very exciting for me and I hope it is for him as well. All the kids in his class are so excited for him to be in their class. So cute to watch them all call for him to come and join them in their basketball games during recess.

When school is not in session, he and Ian have been very busy enjoying the great outdoors.
They built this fort all by themselves!
As a mother it's hard to let him use the axe, but he assured me his brother taught him in Ukraine and he used it at his sister's house. He definately looks like a pro chopping logs. My friend says he looks like a man swinging that axe. :)
He also loves riding his bike he was blessed with from a friend. The more he falls, the better of ride.
He loved the CHRISTmas lights this CHRISTmas season. We drove to town to sit infront of a house, for what seemed like hours, he loved it! I can just imagine his future home being like a movie covered in millions of lights!  He LOVES CHRISTmas lights!

He of course loved all of this CHRISTmas season and REALLY enjoyed opening his gifts.

Ellie and Ian are doing great as they adjust to having a new brother. Ellie encourages him in the latest fashion. (so funny to hear her tell him to lower his pants, so they're not up to his bellybutton, and, "don't tuck that shirt in!" ) She even lets him play her iPod (if he agrees to not bother her cat :) Ian loves sharing a room with his brother and i often have to ask them to quit talking to go to sleep!

So thank you everyone for all of your support! I can't wait to help more families in our community welcome orphans into their homes, Lord willing! The Holy Spirit gave me a great fundraising idea for next Christmas. Wrapping presents for donation only. I went out day after CHRISTmas and grabbed some after CHRISTmas clearance wrapping paper and will store it for next December. Lord willing, we can have several days in December of 2012 where we can invite the community to come and let us wrap their CHRISTmas presents then they can just leave a donation. All money raised would go to help another family bring an orphan into their home! So if you feel like you have extra CHRISTmas paper, or find a great deal, I would love to store it for you so we can use it next year.

"God sets the lonely in families..." Psalm 68:6

We cannot do this alone! Only through the Lord. There are many orphans in the states as we speak on the same hosting program Vitaliy came through. Please pray for these little ones to find their forever family. Please seek the Lord if He would have you to host an orphan in your home this Summer. Lord willing, we can help bring New Horizons for Children to Kansas Summer 2012, and help other children just like our Vitaliy.

Blessed be the name of the Lord!
