Josh and the boys were blessed to be able to tell their Grandma goodbye as they watched her leave this earth the other evening.
Death and end times has been a topic in our home a lot lately.  We've heard more about V's life in Ukraine and things he experienced.  Wow.  We have lots of discussions, they may be short talks, but they are full of meaning!
What will happen when we die?  What does the word soul mean?  What about the end of the world?  When will Jesus come and get us?  What about those left behind?  What about that amazing book of Revelation?
Have you ever pondered your future?  Your death?  Your eternity?
"For ALL have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23
Ps 53:1b "there is NONE that doeth good."
Compared to God we are all sinners!  God hates sin, so the payment of our sin is death.  Death spiritually!  Death being forever seperated from God, now that's hell!  We are all going to hell if we don't "Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is none else." Isaiah 45:22
'But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."  Romans 5:8!!!!!!!!!
I put exclaimation points after this verse, because this is it!!!  Christ took our sins, even while we were still sinning!!!!
"For if, WHEN WE WERE ENEMIES, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled (to change mutually, i.e. to compound a difference) to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life."  Romans 5:10
We shall be saved by His life!!!!
He stood in the gap between God and me!  That huge gap that no one can jump but Jesus.
All we have to do is "confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Romans 10:9
Faith like a child.  Simple.  But... we must put down our pridefulness, our "I can do it without Him" attitude.
Only when we do this will we experience true peace.
"Therefore being justified (regard as just or innocent) by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." Romans 5:1
What can I do for you today? (Please email me and let me know.)  How can I pray for you or meet a need that you may experience Christ's love?
 He loves you...

I really love being a mommy, but it sure does have it's trying times. :)
Know what comforts and encourages me?  Jesus had frustrating times with His disciples too!
"For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin."  Hebrews 4:15
I have read several times when Jesus was on the earth, He tried to teach His children something and they just didn't GET IT.
Sound familiar?  :)
In Mark 8:1 Jesus had just fed over 4,000 people with seven loaves of bread, right in front of the disciples eyes.  In fact, the disciples picked up 7 baskets of leftovers.  I'm sure these were not puny baskets either.  Right after they fed all these people they sent them away and got in a ship to go to Dalmanutha.  Guess what the disciples forgot to bring for their voyage.... BREAD!
Kinda reminds me of running out the door for school and a child forgetting to bring their homework, or going to the store to find out someone is missing shoes!  :)  Jesus understands your frustration Mommy.
My 3 kids and my sister's 3 kids

Jesus even understands what it's like to want some time to yourself!  Ever felt like you wanted to lock yourself in the bathroom to find some peace?  So did Jesus!  (only He didn't escape to the bathroom :)
"And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.  And Simon and they that were with him followed after him."  Mark 1:35 and 36.
He even tried to "sneak by" without them seeing!  :)
"...and would have passed by them.  But when they saw him ..."                  Mark 6:48b and 49.
God understands little Mother.
Even when we get frustrated with our children, as much as we want to give up at times, we must do as Jesus did for His children in Mark 4:1
"And he began again to teach..."
Don't give up dear Mommy, keep pressing on, again and again to teach your sweet little ones.
When you feel like you have nothing left to give, and your children and screaming for your attention, pour out your heart to your Father and He will comfort you.
"As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you..."  Isaiah 66:13a

God is a Consuming Fire!

I am humbled.
My pastor's wife asked me to share on one of God's attirbutes this Thursday at our women's Bible study at Church.  I wrote it all out and thought I might as well post it on my blog.... so here it is, this is exactly what I will say this Thursday, Lord willing.  Glory to God!

"Last week Kris taught us of one of God's many amazing attributes: His mercy.  Micah 7:18 (KJV)"Who is a God like unto thee that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger forever, because he delighteth in MERCY."  God is full of mercy!
Kris asked if I would speak on another attribute of God...Wow!  God is so big, how could I possibly try and speak about one of His attritubes?!  I am reminded of Job 11:7-9:
"Can you fathom the mysteries of God?  Can you probe the limits of the Almighty?  They are higher than the heavens above- what can you do?  They are deeper than the depths below- what can you know?  Their measure is longer than the earth and wider than the sea."  Also:  Psalm 111:2, "The works of the LORD are great, sought out of all them them that have pleasure therein."  So, I what else can I do but go on a Treasure Hunt in God’s Word...
Here is one tiny mindboggling glimpse of God He gives us....
[TURN WITH ME TO HEBREWS 12:29]...... "For our God is a consuming fire."  IS.  God IS A CONSUMING FIRE!  My tiny pea-sized brain cannot fathom this verse, but I must believe by faith that He is a Consuming Fire, just as He is full of Mercy.  Jesus told His disciples in Mark 11:22 "Have faith in God." So I must not trust myself, only His Word.  Deuteronomy 4:24 says this same thing... "For the Lord thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God."
I found the original Hebrew and Greek meanings of the word consuming in The New Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible.....  (Show them the book)
In Deuteronomy Consuming means (#398) "to eat (lit. or fig.):- x at all, burn up, consume, devour (-er, up), dine, eat (-er, up), feed (with), food, x freely..."  The Greek meaning of the Word Consuming in Hebrews is described as (2654) "to consume utterly".  This is a pretty strong meaning.  Once again my mind doesn't understand, but I must trust. "Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us."  He is a refuge for us just as He is a Consuming Fire.

Think of the fear the Israelites experienced as they witnessed Moses on top of the mountain with God in Exodus 19:18! "And Mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly."  And in Exodus 24:17, it says "And the sight of the glory of the LORD was like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel."  SCARY!! I cannot fathom... but one day we will see.
[LET’S LOOK AT 1 CORINTHIANS 13:12]......."For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known."
Just think, one day we will see God!  [LOOK AT REVELATION 1:14]...... It says "his eyes were as a flame of fire;"
Daniel 7:9 and 10a.....  "I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.  A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him..."
[LOOK AT Psalm 37:20 AND SEE WHO GOD WILL CONSUME]...... "But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the Lord shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume;   into smoke shall they consume away."
Who is the wicked?  Psalm 58:3.....”The wicked are estranged from the womb; they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.”   All of us are wicked.
[TURN TO Zephaniah CHAPTER ONE AND LET’S READ VERSES 2-3]..... ."I will utterly consume all things from off the land, saith the Lord.  I will consume man and beast; I will consume the fowls of the heaven, and the fishes of the sea, and the stumblingblocks with the wicked; and I will cut off man from off the land, saith the Lord."
We must fear God! [LOOK AT WHAT THE ANGEL SAID AS WE TURN TO Revelation 14:7]..... “Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters."
Matthew 10:28.... "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."  Sweet Sister... don't fear man, fear God!  Isaiah 2:22 "Sever yourselves from such a man, whose breath is in his nostrils; for what account is he?"  Ecclesiastes 12:13 "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man."
We will not be saved from The Consuming Fire through our own doings!  It’s only through His Holy Spirit!  [READ WITH ME JEREMIAH 31:33-34]..........”But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.  And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”
Let's do as Isaiah 2:10 says, "Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust for fear of the Lord, and for the glory of his majesty."
Who is The Rock?
In Matthew 21:42-44 Jesus describes Himself as "The Stone which the builders rejected” He goes on to say, "... whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder."  I don’t know about you, but I'd rather be broken than be ground to powder!

If we fall on Christ, a fiery trial may be one of the ways, God, The Consuming Fire, “grinds us to powder”, or as Proverbs 25:4 says, takes the dross from the silver. .....”Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the finer.”
Dross is described in the Strong’s as: “refuse”.  Refuse is something that is discarded as worthless or useless; rubbish; trash.  So why do we hate the trials in our lives?  They are hard, lonely and sad, but let’s allow Christ to refine us.
[TURN TO Isaiah 48:10 AND 11].....“Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.  For mine own sake, even for mine own sake, will I do it; for how should my name be polluted? And I will not give my glory unto another.”
1 Peter 4:12-13 "Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy."
The Hebrew meaning of the Word fiery, according to The New Strong's   is purosis (4451).  It comes from the root word puroo (4448).  Kinda sounds like our word pure!   Purro means "to kindle; to be ignited; glow (lit.); be refined."
1 John 3:3...... "And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure."   Don't you want to be more like Christ?  Allow Him to refine you in His purifying fire!  May we be His "living sacrifice".
Romans 12:1-2....... "I beseech you therefore, brethern, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service."
Remember Elijah's sacrifice in 1 Kings 18:38, "Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench."   I want God to consume me like that, so that even the water of my life is "licked up", and I would be full of His "living water".   Remember the story of the woman at the well in John 4:10.  I love how Jesus casually tells her that He would have given her living water if she would have asked for it.  :)
I also want to be full of His Spirit, like Ephesians 5:18 says, so that I can "BE HOLY; FOR HE IS HOLY." 1 Peter 1:16.   We cannot do this ourselves, it is only through the Holy Spirit.  "For in him we live, and move, and have our being..." Acts 17:28a.

[LET’S LOOK AT THIS FAMILIAR PASSAGE:  1 Corinthians 3:16]............. "Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?"
You may or may not be as familiar with the verse that follows :  verse 17.... "If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are."
Once again, a mind- boggling verse, we are God's temple!
Think back to Old Testament passages about what went on in God's temple...offerings and sacrifices!  What did God do to the sacrifice?
Leviticus 3:5 "And Aaron's sons shall burn it on the altar upon the burnt sacrifice, which is upon the wood that is on the fire: it is an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord."
I want to be a sweet savour unto the Lord.
[LOOK AT 2 Corinthians 2:15]...... "For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:"
That’s another mindboggling thought:   The world is looking at us during our fiery trial to smell Christ!!!!!

I pray the Holy Spirit would burn in our hearts just like He did His disciples’.
Luke 24:32, "Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?"

I want to remind you where we started....thinking about last week’s study of how merciful God is...

Remember the man who burned physically for Christ?  WOW.
Consume us O Lord for the glory of Your name.

“It is of the LORD’S merices that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.”   Lamentations 3:22

"And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes." John 21:6
Can you imagine what these fishermen were thinking!?

If it was me, I would be thinking..."But Jesus!  Our net is already on THIS side of the boat!  It takes SO much time and effort to move the net!  Can't You just make the fish jump into the net on THIS side of the boat!?"
But Jesus called them to obedience.
"That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest OBEY His voice..." Deuteronomy 30:20
Jesus wants us to trust Him no matter what He asks.  It may sound like a crazy request... but He knows the larger picture.
Jesus asked them to act out their faith in Him.
James 2:17 NIV "In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead."
   Woah!! DEAD! Christ wants ACTION!!!
What is Christ asking YOU to DO today?

Hard Road

We just got done with a 4 day weekend out of school.  Fun was not a word I would use to describe it.  Have you ever had one of those seasons of life?  This mommy road has had some big pits along the way.
I was feeling very overwhelmed this morning when the Holy Spirit showed me this verse,
"Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness." Isaiah 41:10
Help- to surround
Uphold- to sustain
That sure is comforting!!  It's nice to know I'm not alone as I Mother my children.  God will surround me, help me and sustain me!  He's the One who gave me my job as a Mommy and He will help me fulfill it!
Then the Holy Spirit led me to this sweet verse this morning... a soothing balm to my aching soul.
"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."  Matthew 11:28
Laden- to load up (as a vessel or animal)
God knows I feel like a loaded animal some days!!!  But He PROMISES if I come to Him He will give me REST!!!!  I LOVE this promise!!
Thank you Father for this precious word this morning to feed my weary soul.

Are you going to Heaven?

"And why call ye me, LORD, LORD, and do not the things which I say?"  Luke 6:46
Can you hear it......the frustration in Jesus' voice?  People then, and people now think just because they SAY they are Christians mean they're getting to heaven....
"Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."  Matthew 7:14
STRAIT= narrow (from obstacles standing close about)
NARROW= to crowd, afflict, narrow, throng, suffer tribulation, trouble
"For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the DOERS of the law shall be justified." Romans 2:13
Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven." Matt 7:21
Are you living it, in Him?

Crave Christ!!

"Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness...
Guess what the word hunger means in this verse...
Hunger= to crave
HELLO..... anybody out there?  Do you CRAVE Christ?!
CRAVE  What a strong word!!  I want my heart to pound for Christ.  Be so excited to spend time with Him, have Him always on my mind, so excited to tell others of my yummy relationship with Almighty God that I can't hardly stand it!
God promises if you CRAVE Him...
...for they shall be filled."
Matthew 5:6

Suppertime Table

I love it when God reveals Himself in everyday situations.

I have always had a "facination" with ordinary tables. I know, weird. I think it must go back to when I was a kid and I stood at the porch screen to our garage to watch dad work for hours stripping the paint off of an old dining room table. He refinished it to a georgous varnished table we ate at daily in our home. For a long time mom had it covered with a plastic table cloth so my sister and I wouldn't spill anything on it. Dad worked very hard to refinish it and when water gets on wood... it leaves an ugly spot. I eventually talked mom and dad into taking the tablecloth off so we could enjoy the beauty of it. I think that must be when the Holy Spirit placed a desire for tables in my heart... as a young girl.

Remember my post I wrote about the table  God sets for us in the midst of our enemies?

God loves tables and He loves to prepare for us. The Holy Spirit recently taught me through Nancy Campbell of Above Rubies, that God also loves to prepare food for us! Cool huh?! For those of you who know me, you know I have always HATED cooking and preparing food. I'd rather clean up and do dishes than cook. I often see food blogs with all this georgous food... but think, that's not me. It is still not me to prepare fancy foods, but I can at least prepare SIMPLE nutricious food as Christ did to nurish my family's body and spirit.

I love how Nancy describes Jesus on the shore of the sea of Tiberias "PREPARING" a simple nutricious meal for his loved ones:

"As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread."
John 21:9..."Jesus saith unto them,
Come and dine." John 21:12. "Jesus then cometh, and taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise." John 21:13.

Jesus goes onto say, "
Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these?... Feed my lambs...Feed my sheep"

So if I as a wife and mommy love God more than my family... I need to FEED THEM! I need to look at making supper as a ministry to God and to my family, an opportunity to sacrifice my time and self for the Lord.

Nancy also paints a beautiful word picture of the garden of Eden. God came to Adam and Eve "in the cool of the day" Genesis 3:8. I always thought this ment the early morning hours. But as I listened to Nancy and studied the Scripture for myself I find the meaning of the words cool and day.

Cool- wind; by resemblance breath, i.e. a sensible (or even violent) exhalation

Day- to be hot; a day (as the warm hours); elder, end, evening

Nancy describes this time as supper time. :) A time of the day that things are supose to slow down. Guess what Adam and Eve are doing... they're hiding during the supper hours, (they're "not home")!

"And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?"

Of course God already knew where they were, He just wanted Adam to commune with Him. :) God wanted to join Adam and Eve in the evening hours, during supper time! Nancy explains that Adam and Eve sound a lot like the American family. We are not home during the supper time hours! That's when God wants us to come together as a family and dine or "sup" with Him.

"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me."

Sup= to dine, i.e. take the principal (or evening) meal:- sup(x -er)

God wants to have supper with us as a family! Why do we run around from one activity to another in the evening hours eating a fast food meal on the go?! Whenever possible I want to keep our evenings free and dine together at the table, and not in the car!

"...Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb..." Revelation 19:9

God is preparing an evening meal for you... are you ready and available to come and sup with Him?

Friends have always been very important in my life.   I always felt I could not breathe without a close friend.   But guess what, God has proved my thinking wrong. :) He's good at that.   He is the only way.

Many close friends have come and gone through out my 33 years.   I have wept bitterly over each and everyone of them.   I think I'm finally ready to listen to My Father...

He is all I need.

Yes, it hurts to see other ladies being so close, but then the Holy Spirit whispers,
         " I AM closer than a brother" (Proverbs 18:24).

Jesus had 3 very close friends, (Peter, James, and John) but even then they were his "disciples" and Jesus was training them to live without Him in the flesh and to tell others about Him.   When He asked them to pray with Him before He endured cross, they fell asleep! (Luke 22:40) So much for "being there" for Him! They left Him at the most important season of His life. John 16:32
"Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me."

In the study Search for Significnce. Robert S. McGee says, if we believe this false truth:

"I must have the approval of certain others to feel good about myself (Fear of Rejection)"

We must replace it with God's truth that says:
"Because of reconciliation I am totally accepted by God.
I no longer have to fear rejection."

Reconciliation = to atone for sin

Everyone on this earth may reject me, but I am totally accepted by God because of His work on the cross!   God will supply ALL my needs!   Even the emotional ones.

"But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus"
    Philippians 4:19

Praise the Mighty name of Jesus!

Micah 7:5 "Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide..."
oooooo, but wait, look what follows in verse 7!

"Therefore I will look unto the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me." Micah 7:7
Such an awesome promise!!!!!   Only God is worthy of our trust!!!   And He is awake at ALL hours of the night!   We don't have to worry when others fail us!

"Be strong and of good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee." Deuteronomy 31:6

Thank you Jesus for being my Best Friend!

John 15:15b
"...but I have called you friends..."

Why do ladies who call themselves "Followers of Christ" feel the need to dress in public with parts exposed that only belong to their husband?

Help me it the way they were raised, do they not know any better, do they not respect themselves, do they want to draw attention to their body, do they want to be like the world, do they not want to represent Christ, did their mommy not teach them, did their daddy not explain the way a guy thinks, did something bad happen to them when they were small, do they not care if they make a brother stumble?

Does Christ care about the way a Christian lady dresses?

Isaiah 61:10 "I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath CLOTHED me with the garments of salvation, he hath COVERED me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with jewels."

Ezekiel 16:10 "I CLOTHED thee also with broidered work, and shod
(to fasten up)thee with badgers' skin, and I girded (to wrap firmly) thee about with fine linen, and I COVERED thee with silk."

wrap around

= to plump; i.e. fill up hollows; to cover (for clothing or secrecy); conceal; cover (self); hide

ABSOLUTELY He does! He's our HEAVENLY Father! He loves us and wants to cover us to protect us and His sons!

Over and over in His Word, God talks of covering His people. If a person wasn't covered, it was a sign of shame. When He was talking to the church of the Laodiceans in Revelation 3:18 He said,

"that thou mayest be CLOTHED, and that the SHAME OF THY NAKEDNESS DO NOT APPEAR..."

When we are not covered, it is a sign of shame!!

God is so Holy! We, as ladies, must even cover our heads because of His awesomeness! God's Word says that our hair is covering.

1 Corinthians 11:5 "But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven." 1 Cor 11:15 "But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: FOR HER HAIR IS GIVEN HER FOR A COVERING."

So if we dishonor ourselves with our head uncovered, what must we be doing to ourselves if parts of our body meant only for our husband are uncovered!?

Titus 2 describes how a young Christian woman should behave. It says in verse 5 we are to be CHASTE= clean i.e. innocent, modest, perfect.

Debi Pearl says in Created to be His Help Meet, "A chaste woman is a modest woman. God speaks of a woman maintaining her chastity and purity by the clothes she wears."

1 Timothy 2:9-10 "In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in MODEST APPAREL, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works."

In her book, Debi goes on to say,"God says that a woman's apparel should profess godliness. Her clothes, hair and adornments-not just her mouth-make a loud profession to all who see her that she is modest and godly, or that she is immodest and ungodly. Our Heavely Father has dress standards!"

In Created to be His Help Meet, Debi also says, "Clothes speak to all who see us. Clothes make a constant profession. That is they declare out loud-drowning out our words-our true heart condition and our attitude toward orselves and toward those who see us." Actions definately speak louder than words!

How do you want others to see you? I pray that when people look at us, Christian ladies, they would not see our "body", they would....

 see Christ.

Summer Visitors

We had some amazing visitors from far, far away a couple weeks ago... from Ukraine!!

2 Boys in Back are From V's School in Ukraine!

It was wonderful to reunite with our friends! We met D and E through Facebook because they also hosted their boys through NHFC. Their boys attended V's school!! V grew up with them!!

Little V  :)
It is so amazing, only God could orchestrate our friendship, so needless to say, their friendship is priceless!!

We were on our 10 day waiting period in Ukraine when D and E arrived in the same city we were staying in. Tress and I counted down the days for their arrival. As soon as they got there, we got a message they were in town and we met them at the nearest restaurant as soon as we could.
Can you say, "Breath of Fresh Air"?

Immediately a friendship was born with so much in common! We shared taxi rides, watched movies together, exchanged money between each other, went shopping together, ate together...

D and V
and even shared 2 different hotel rooms for a COUPLE WEEKS together!

Movie Night in the Hotel room  :)
Tressa took these memorable pics for us  :)
A little blury, us at a Ukrainian Restraunt

Even before we traveled overseas, they allowed us to call their son’s phone in Ukraine to be able to talk to V. I would have never dreamed that I would meet this sweet young man…

…or that he and his family would stay with us in our home a year later!
Y and V Having fun in the Pool.  V kept trying to knock Y off.  :)

Fourth of July!

The Fourth of July... my favorite time of the year!
I can hardly believe it, last year at this time we were selling water bottles as a fundraiser to go get our little V!

Check out this verse the Holy Spirit showed me this Forth of July Eve...

"Thus will I (God) magnify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD."  Ezekiel 38:23

Our nation, The United States of America, is not mentioned very often in God's Word... but I have a feeling He is including The good ole' U S of A in this verse!!  Isn't that cool!?!

I do love it that He showed me this verse the day before the 4th of July!  To me, it's the "Most Wonderful Time of the Year"!!  I absolutely LOVE the Fourth of July!  What a time of celebration physically and spiritually!  We are free indeed by the grace of God!

"If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed."  John 8:36

But we're not living like we're free.

"Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage."        Galatians 5:1

It's amazing to me how far we have fallen away from knowing God since our nation was first born.  Now anything that resembles God is banned.  So so sad.  Ezekiel 38:19-22 shows how we will know that He is the Lord... that's the scary part.  We will know God because of His jealousy (vs 19) and in the fire of His wrath!

"And I will plead against him  (Gog-uncertain; some Northern nation) with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire and brimstone."  Ezekiel 38:22

These things are still to come!  Are you for God or against?  Your actions speak louder than your words.
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Matthew 7:16

"No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon". Matthew 6:24

I can't wait for V to experience his first Fourth of July in the heart of America.  My favorite celebration EVER!  I can't wait for him to hear, see and smell the amazing show of fireworks in Josh's hometown.  What a sweet celebration!

But the fireworks to come will not be so sweet.  It will not be a time of celebration.  It will be a time of destroying, blood, hailstones, fire and a raining of sulphur from the sky!!!

Are you ready?

"Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not."  Luke 12:40
